My father suggests I make myself look too old. I think it safe to say my father still sees the child, and I see some of my father when drawing my self-portrait.
I think your father's right - you're adding at least ten years, somehow. Enough with the self-critical air! (And I am in now way related to you, as far as we know.)
Unless of course you are drawing a future portrait, which might be an interesting take for a fantasy fan. "Dorian Gray in reverse" - it has possibilities.
